Holding a much envied position on the lower slopes of Butter Crag, a short stroll away from the bottom of our sweeping private driveway lies Grasmere, the village that gave Wordsworth his inspiration. From the creative romantic to the serious fell walker, there is a side of Grasmere that everyone can fall in love with.

Forest Side is set in 42 acres of landscape and wooded gardens, which are home to deer, red squirrels, a badger set and of course rabbits. Once inside, you will be greeted by a warm friendly smile, and in cooler weather, an even warmer roaring fire of which there are four regularly lit.
Three large lounges are available for you to relax, unwind and enjoy a drink, in the company of new friends and old. Our comfortable bar lounge with views of the surrounding fells is the ideal location to sit and enjoy a selection of home cooked foods.

Superior – These rooms have fantastic views with large windows, sometimes a window seat or a big bay window. All Superior rooms have a DVD player and hairdryer. Please ask which one is available. En-suite with either a shower or bath and shower.
With a View – Rooms at the side and front of the hotel with views from the window of the surrounding countryside and fells. Some overlook the back lawn, some the side fields. En-suite with a shower.
Standard – En suite rooms either at the rear of the hotel or in the lodge (the old coaching lodge within the grounds of the hotel) En-suite with either shower or bath and shower.
Basic – Rooms that share a Shower room and Toilet in the corridor with a maximum of two other rooms. |
