 | On the edge of the Lake District, The Walkers Hostel has 30 beds with between 2 and 9 beds to a room, bedding is included. There are male and female shower rooms but bring your own towels. Self service light breakfast available from 7:00 am and a serviced cooked breakfast available from 7:30 am starting Jan 09. An evening meal will be available on request. There is a no smoking policy in the hostel and grounds, a cycle lock up, drying facilities and an open fire. Tea and coffee provided free for the duration of your stay. The Walkers Hostel is the only Independent Hostel in the Furness area to provide affordable, comfortable and centrally heated accommodation. We are ideally situated at the start of the “Cumbria Way” and within easy reach of the major Lake district Attractions. |
Our rooms have between 2 to 9 bunked and single beds on 2 floors, bedding included. The male shower block and toilets are on the first floor and the female on the second floor. Our common room is warm and friendly with a real coal fire. Also there is a well stocked book shelf which caters for a wide readership from walkers, climbers to computer users and historians. We operate a no smoking policy in the Hostel and grounds which we kindly ask you to respect. The reception area is open from 4 pm - 6 pm and 9 pm - 10:30 pm, the front door is locked at 11 pm when we kindly ask for quiet in all rooms to allow all guests to get a good nights sleep. The hostel is closed from 9.30 am - 4 pm daily. We do not cater for pets on site but have an arrangement with a well respected local kennels who will collect your pet from the hostel and return your pet on the morning of departure. Ulverston is a historic market town and the home of its famous son Stan Laurel, the Laurel and Hardy museum is due to be relocated 100 yards away from the hostel and we welcome all Laurel and Hardy fans to come and stay with us. Whatever your reason for visiting Ulverston or the Lake District, make the Walkers Hostel your first choice of accommodation.
