the beach is only 5 minutes away at Point Clear or there is Clacton for the traditional seaside resort and Frinton for something a little quieter. St Osyth has an old tide-mill lake where jetskis, water skiing and pedaloes can be hired. For something less lively, it is excellent walking and birdwatching country with several nature reserves in the locality.
