 | Cowes is known the world over as the mecca of yachting and any visit to the town would not be complete without a stroll along the promenade to the Royal Yacht Squadron, where many regattas start and finish (don't forget to cover your ears when the cannons fire to signal the start and finish of the racing!)
The pedestrianised high street has chandlers and nautical clothing shops as well as a multitude of pubs and restaurants where sailors relay tales of their days afloat.
