| Set in the heart of Southern Lakeland, this beautiful cottage dates from the C17th and has been very much a feature of local life and landscape. It stands on the old packhorse route over the fells and was for many years the local toll house - a stopping point for travellers making their way to the high peaks. It became a natural meeting point for folk scattered over the hills and was once used as a Quaker meeting house. | |
