The Haven is a AA 4 star guest house run by the owners, Patricia and Edward Wood They ensure that your stay is both enjoyable and memorable.
This traditional Victorian stone built house is in a quiet and central location situated in the attractive village of Windermere. We offer warm and homely accomodation that will enable you to relax and enjoy the wonderful Lake District.

The Haven is an excellent choice for comfort and convenience. The railway, bus station and other facilities including shops, restaurants and the library are just a few minutes walk away.

The bright, cheerful accommodation includes large bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities, and some have traditional style Victorian beds. A hearty grilled breakfast, traditional or vegetarian, is served in the large dining room.
Bedroom Facilities
We have 3 en-suite rooms which include two double and one family room which has a double and one single bed.
Every room has tea and coffee making facilities, bath robes, hair dryer and flat screen TV.
Toiletries are provided. All bedrooms are non-smoking.

Room 2 has a traditional Victorian style bed with the additional luxury of a lounge area which provides a relaxing environment. Original pine panelling gives an authentic Victorian feel to this light and spacious room. The French styling provides a romantic ambience which can make that stay in the Lakes a lasting memory.

Room 3 has a traditional Victorian style bed, but has a very cosy feel that encourages you to linger. This room has a view of the distant Coniston Fells beyond the far side of Windermere.

Room 4 is a family room which has a double and one single bed. The large en-suite enables the room to comfortably accommodate a small family. This room also has a view of the distant Coniston fells
The Dining room doubles as a lounge outside of the breakfast times where our guests can relax and plan their excursions using the maps and guides that we have available. The dining room has original pine panelling which provides that original Victorian atmosphere. A traditional English cooked breakfast, which includes locally produced Cumbrian sausage, is complemented with fruit, fruit juice, yogurt and cereal with tea, coffee and toast with home made preserves to complete.

After Breakfast go walking, We both have climbed most of the Lakeland fells, so if you have come to the Lake District for the walking then we can suggest a suitable route for all capabilities, ambitions and interests and consider the weather conditions in designing a route for you. If walking is not for you there are plenty of places that we can suggest that will entrance you.

How to find us: from the A5074, follow signs for Windermere town centre. After entering the one-way system, take the 3rd left into Birch Street. The Post Office is on the corner of Birch Street.The nearest motorway is the M6, junction 36 from the south, junction 37 from the north, via Kendal. The nearest railway station is Windermere, from where connections to the West Coast main line can be made at Oxenholme.
