 | Acorn Guest House is a large Edwardian red brick house well situated for everything Oxford has to offer.
Acorn Guest House is a friendly, reasonably priced, family run business. All guest rooms have central heating, coffee and tea making facilities and colour TV.
We have a computer for guests use and WiFi in all rooms.
Acorn is non-smoking throughout.
Double and twin rooms have en-suite bathrooms apart from two budget rooms. |
There is parking for our guests directly in front of the house. There is room for approximately six cars. If there are no spaces left you can usually find something nearby.
There is a big choice of restaurants either on nearby Cowley Road and St Clements or in the town centre. There are Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian and Italian restaurants nearby, a wonderful Fish Restaurant in St Clements (walking distance) and there are also pub and cafe meals and a fish and chip shop nearby. At busy times of year (eg graduation, summer holidays) and weekends it is worth booking a table if you want to go to a particular restaurant.
The house is set back from a main road and the rooms at the front of the house all have double glazed windows, however there is some traffic noise. The rooms overlooking the garden at the back of the house are very quiet. |  |
 | Oxford Railway station can be reached by a direct bus service (No 4 bus) which passes the house. The bus stop is about 50 yards from Acorn.
Alternatively you can take a taxi - the fare is approximately £7.00
The regular no 3 and no 4 buses all go to and from the centre of Oxford and pass our door.
To reach Acorn Guest House you can get on the bus at Queen Street or the High Street and ask the driver for a ticket to the Magdalen Road bus stop on Iffley Road. The front of the bus will show the destination as 'Rose Hill'. This service should run every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes in the evenings and at weekends. From the Central Bus Station at Gloucester Green there are frequent buses to London, Heathrow and Gatwick and of course buses to many other parts of the UK.
