Kelso lies at the meeting point of two famous Border Rivers the Tweed & Teviot. Notable features include the Flemish style cobbled Market Square, a 12th century Abbey & numerous stately homes the nearest being Floors Castle & Mellerstain House. The area boasts good sporting facilities & country pursuits including fishing.
Junction Pool at Kelso is one of the most renowned salmon beats on the Tweed ... there is also trout & coarse fishing, hill walking and Kelso Race Course (national hunt racing), 2 local Golf Clubs and a cinema. There are several restaurants & hotels in the area offering a wide choice of fare. |
