Sligachan Hotel

In Isle of Skye, Highlands, Scotland

It would be hard to find a more dramatic and inspiring setting in the whole of Scotland, let alone Europe, than the one enjoyed by the world famous Sligachan Hotel. With the Black Cuillin towering at its back and the sparkling waters of Loch Sligachan at its foot, the hotel has served mountaineers, walkers and lovers of wild Highland scenery for over 175 years.
Sligachan Hotel is family owned and run, remaining in the Campbell family since 1912 and continues to provide the high standards for which it is renowned. Modernised & expanded over the years it provides an ideal base for any type of break, be it climbing in the Black Cuillins or simply 'getting away from it all'.
From the quiet relaxation of the hotel to the lively atmosphere of Seumas' Bar, Sligachan provides something for everyone.
The Sligachan Hotel has 21 newly completely refurbished bedrooms, decorated to bring a bright, modern, comfortable feel while holding on the "old worldy" feel of this well known and unique building.
In total there are 4 singles 13 twin/double and 4 Family rooms each sleeping 3 to 4 persons. Cots can also be provided for younger residents. All rooms are en-suite and the majority have both bath and shower. The facilities within the bedroom include tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV's and hairdryers.
Although modern in style, our refurbishment has tried to include as much of the "charm" of Sligachan as possible by retaining many of the original features and furnishings passed down through the generations.
Most of our rooms have outstanding views, either over to the magnificent Cuillin range or down Loch Sligachan towards Raasey.
Be sure at time of booking to ask for your preference - we can't guarantee it but we will try our best!
The main hotel is preserved as a comfortable and peaceful retreat, where one can relax in front of the log fire in MacKenzies Bar while sampling a pint of Skye Ale, brewed on the premises from the clear waters of the Cuillin, or relax with one of our rare malts in Collie's Lounge, looking out over the Cuillin Ridge as the sun goes down.
For those who prefer a bit more hustle and bustle, the lively Seumas' bar is the place to enjoy the famed 'crack' of the Highland, with its log fire to keep out the cold and its range of over 100 fine malt whisky's on optic and array of real ales.
The hotels Cairidh restaurant takes its name from the roughly built stone semi circles which were constructed in many of Skye's sea lochs during the 19th century.
Sligachan prides itself on its good value home-cooked food using as much local produce as possible, our menus today still include fresh scallops dived for in Loch Sligachan and Langoustines caught by local fishermen.
