Hot water is provided by an immersion heater and there are electric heaters throughout the chalet. You will require £1 coins for the meter which is in the cupboard over the fridge.Towels and linen are not provided. There are choices of duvet for both the double and the single beds and also blankets.Apart from the warmest one, the duvets for the double bed are king size, so a king size cover is best if you have one. |
Although the chalet can be used at any time of year, you will appreciate that in chilly weather it can require heating whenever you are in it as heat is lost quickly through the wooden walls. There are several portable electric heaters and a fixed wall heater in the bathroom and another in the shower room. Each bed has an electric blanket to warm it before use or there are hot water bottles hanging in the shower room if you prefer. Number 35 occupies a very favourable position, facing roughly south and enjoying lovely views. A children’s play is within sight, enabling parents to sit peacefully in the chalet or on the terrace and watch their children play in safety. Only the occasional car belonging to another resident passes the chalet and road calming measures ensure that this is at slow speed. There is a lovely heated outdoor pool on the site which is normally available in season from 9am to 5pm for the use of anyone renting our chalet.A key (an electronic card)is in the chalet | |
 | Wildlife visitors to the terrace include a variety of birds, squirrels and (at dusk) badgers if you choose to encourage them by putting out suitable food. Walkers will enjoy the freedom of numerous footpaths including the famous Panoramic Walk, which can be accessed via a path from the site or by car from Aberdovey. There is an RSPB (Ynys Hir) sanctuary on the other side of the estuary and also a Nature Reserve (Ynyslas) near Borth. The area is full of interest and things to do in addition to walking and swimming. The Tourist Information Centres in Aberdovey, Machynlleth and Tywyn are excellent resources for ideas about places to go and things to do. There are regular trains along the coast in both directions, and the views from the train are worth the trip in themselves. From Machynlleth regular trains run into Shropshire, and a trip to Shrewsbury is a good way to spend a day if you enjoy Historic Towns, or if you fancy a day’s shopping. |
