Worcestershire Holiday Accommodation |
||||
Worcestershire is located in the Heart of England and offers a blend of outstanding scenery and places to visit to suit all interests. Visitors can experience the Malvern Hills, the cathedral city of Worcester, woodlands of the Forest of Wyre, industrial heritage of Bromsgrove and Redditch, the market towns of Pershore, Droitwich Spa, Tenbury Wells and Evesham, the Severn, Teme and Avon valleys and the honey coloured warmth of Broadway. A large area of Worcestershire used to be devoted to fruit-growing and the cultivation of hops; this has decreased considerably since World War II, though in the southern area of the county, around the Vale of Evesham, there are still sufficient orchards that the British Automobile Association signposts a route (the "Blossom Trail") where the orchards can be seen in spring. Worcestershire was the site of the Battle of Evesham in which Simon de Montfort was killed (4th August, 1265), and later, in the English Civil War, the Battle of Worcester (1651). Come to Worcestershire and you will discover a beautiful county offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the very essence of England. |
